About Us

Oblique Modern was born from a shared way of looking at art and objects, and from an ongoing dialogue between two complementary sensibilities.

 

We are a duo of collectors and curators brought together by a common interest in post-war abstraction and modern European design. Coming from different backgrounds—one more closely rooted in art history, the other in structure, analysis, and economics—we meet at the intersection of form, balance, and intention.

 

We approach art and design as full-fledged visual languages. Rather than focusing on signatures or trends, we are guided by the coherence of a formal vocabulary: a line, a surface, a rhythm, a volume capable of holding its presence over time and within space.

 

Our work consists in sourcing, contextualizing, and bringing into dialogue artworks and objects—paintings, sculptures, ceramics, glass, lighting, and furniture—favoring pieces where abstraction, function, and craftsmanship converge.

 

Oblique Modern has developed as a long-term endeavor, somewhere between a private collection and a space for exchange. We advocate for a sensitive yet rigorous approach, where intuition is always supported by knowledge, and each choice is part of a coherent curatorial vision.
